Princess Diaries 3 is happening whether you want it or not, and Anne Hathaway is on board
She may be heavily pregnant, but it seems Anne Hathaway is just itching to reprise her Princess Diaries role for a third time.
The 2001 original, directed by Garry Marshall, was a commercial hit and shot a young Hathaway (she was 18) to fame, despite lukewarm reviews from critics.
The now 33-year-old apparently has no qualms about playing Mia (who, in the first film, discovered she was the heir to the throne of a fictional kingdom) again.
"I was with Anne Hathaway a couple weeks ago, it looks like we want to do Princess Diaries 3 in Manhattan," director Garry Marshall told People.
"Anne Hathaway is very pregnant, so we have to wait until she has the baby and then I think we're going to do it."
Hathaway will be next seen in Colossal and then Alice Through the Looking Glass, in which she plays the White Queen.
However, it appears her slate is pretty clear after that, thanks in the main to the impending new arrival no doubt.
Marshall was asked if her original co-star Chris Pine would return for the third instalment, and he said, "Maybe. He's quite big now, you know?"
Bigger than Hathaway it seems!
