Oscar-winning film maker Michael Moore has surprised fans by releasing an anti-Donald Trump documentary.
With just three weeks to go until the presidential election, Michael Moore in TrumpLand was released on Tuesday night.
The movie was filmed just eleven days ago, and is based on a one-man show about Trump that Moore performed in the heart of Republican state Ohio several weeks ago.
“See the film Ohio Republicans tried to shut down. Oscar-winner Michael Moore dives right into hostile territory with his daring and hilarious one-man show, deep in the heart of TrumpLand in the weeks before the 2016 election," reads the synopsis.
In a review of the movie, The New York Times says: "Moore has basically made an earnest but not very entertaining pro-Clinton campaign film, occasionally funny, momentarily heartfelt when he takes up the subject of universal health care and the lives lost for lack of it."
Moore shared the news of the documentary's release on Twitter, resulting in hundreds gathering outside a theatre in New York in order to get an opportunity to see a free screening.
The film has since been released in cinemas in New York and Los Angeles, and is available on iTunes.
