Actor Michael Fassbender is reportedly about to sign up for a major role in a new Hollywood blockbuster.
According to insiders, the German-Irish star is in line to play a Norwegian police man named Harry Hole in the film noir.
Variety reports that Fassbender is in talks to appear in the adaptation of the bestselling Jo Nesbø novel of the same name, which is due to be directed by Tomas Alfredson.
Tinsel town legend Martin Scorcsese is also believed to have signed on as executive producer.
In the book, Hole is a maverick cop investigating a serial killer who always leaves a snowman near the scene of his murders.
In total, there are ten books about the police man, turning Nesbø into one of the most prominent authors in Norway.
Fassbender (38) is currently appearing in Macbeth alongside Marion Cotillard and in Danny Boyle's critically acclaimed biopic about the life of the late Steve Jobs.
