Rumours are suggesting that 1998 movie Blade is about to get a makeover with a female lead.
The action-horror movie, starring Wesley Snipes as a vampire hunter, was Marvel's first box office success. It spawned two sequels, Blade II and Blade: Trinity and resurrected the vampire hunter character within the Marvel universe.
Wesley Snipes had told reporters at Comic-Con last month that he and Marvel Entertainment have been discussing a reprise of the character. In the event that he does return, however, he would likely take on a supporting role.

The new Blade film would be centered on the vampire hunter’s daughter, Fallon Grey. Should she be made the protagonist of the film, it’s likely that Snipe’s Blade would serve as a fatherly mentor figure to the heroine.
For those unfamiliar with Fallon Grey, here is how Blade comic book writer Tim Seeley describes her: "She’s a sort of ‘anti-Peter Parker.’ She’s popular, she’s well-liked and it seems like the world is her oyster. But, the expectations that come with being so damn perfect are starting to break her down, and that’s before she learns she’s the heir to a Daywalking-Monster-Stabbing-Empire."
