Leonardo DiCaprio is guaranteed an Oscar no matter who is announced Best Actor at the ceremony on February 28.

Having bagged the Screen Actors Guild award, Golden Globe, and Hollywood Foreign Press Association award for Best Actor he seems like a shoo in to win the Oscar for his performance in The Revenant.

However, even if he's not, fans in Siberia are reportedly in the process of making an Oscar for the 41-year-old star - with their own melted down valuables.

The 100 plus female fans in the Yakutia region have launched the 'Oscar for Leo' campaign in a bid to ensure he's not disappointed on the night.

The trophy will be slightly different to the original golden statuette, however. It will be made from gold and silver and will face upwards and hold a choron, which is a traditional three-legged Yakut goblet.

“Yakutia praises high-quality cinema and considers DiCaprio to be an actor who can inspire and delight his audiences," campaign leader Tatyana Yegorava told Russian news agency TASS.

It is unclear what will happen to the statuette should DiCaprio win the real thing.
