Adele has addressed the rumours that Rebel Wilson is due to play her in a movie.
Speaking on stage at her performance in London on Monday, Adele addressed the claims, telling the crowd: "I've heard there are rumours about Rebel Wilson will be playing me in a movie – let's see if that turns out to be true.
"Just because I'm plus-sized doesn't mean she's playing me."
She added: "They'll need my f**king permission first."
It has been reported that Bridesmaids star Rebel is keen to portray Adele in an upcoming film about her meteoric rise to fame in a bid to prove herself as a serious actress.
The Australian actress is known for comedic roles such as her turn in Bridesmaids, How To Be Single and Pitch Perfect.
A source told The Daily Star: "Rebel has always wanted to prove she can cut it as a serious actress. This is going to be a huge challenge for her because Adele is a legend at the peak of her popularity."
The 36-year-old has previously claimed that she is often mistaken for Adele, telling the BBC: "Sometimes I get confused for Adele. And I'm like 'are you kidding me? Are you serious, she's like well better'."
She also joked about the confusion while hosting the MTV Music Awards in 2013, saying: "I am quite surprised they asked me to host. So is MTV. They thought I was Adele."
