Irish actor Brendan Gleeson has said he hopes the attention son Domhnall attracts thanks to his Star Wars role "doesn't become too idiotic".
Gleeson senior has had plenty of experience working on a series with a fervent fan base thanks to his Mad Eye Moody role in Harry Potter.
Even then, he said he was pretty much left alone in real life since children rarely recognised him without his 'mad' eye.
However, anticipation for the Star Wars: The Force Awakens, directed by JJ Abrams and opening on December 16 in Ireland, is at fever pitch and little is known about Domhnall's character General Hux.
Domhnall (32) is likely to find himself the target of an extremely excited fandom.
"I have experience of that with Harry Potter and I got a scare when it took off and became so massive," Gleeson said.
As for fans thinking of landing on the Gleesons' doorstep in the hopes of encountering Hux himself, he added, "Don't bother, he doesn't live here anymore!".
Domhnall has had a spate of hugely successful performances in the past year from his turn in Ex Machina to Brooklyn, and upcoming epic The Revenant.
Star Wars is just another high profile role for the Dublin star.
"I don't think Domhnall will be defined by his Star Wars role, he's well known already and his attitude is pretty great," said Brendan.
"I just hope the attention doesn't become too idiotic, but I can't see why it should."
