'I don't get up out of bed, I jump out of it' - teaser clip lands for 'Mattress Mick' documentary
The first teaser clip of the upcoming Mattress Men documentary has landed.
The film, which tells the story of Dubliner Michael 'Mattress Mick' Flynn, is set to have its premiere at the prestigious Hot Docs festival in Toronto next month.
In an effort to boost his mattress business, Mick enlisted the help of filmmaker Paul Kelly and Brian 'The Mattress Man' Traynor to create videos to post online.
However, Paul and Mick have their friendship tested as they struggle to earn a living during the recession.
In the clip below, Brian explains how he motivates himself to get out of bed in the morning.
"The best part of the day is between 7.30 and 10.30 in the morning," he says.
"That's the best part of the day. Once you get through that part of the day you're flying, that's what I believe.
"I don't get up out of bed, I jump out of it. I can't wait to get out of bed in the morning, 5.30, 6.30, 7, whatever time I get up at, it's great. Bowl of porridge, yahoo! Best of the whole lot, can't beat it, can't beat it.
"I rebuilt myself with a positive outlook on life, that's what I do, that's what I do now. That's my belief now, rebuiling the character, just building myself and looking at the sunset now. It's beautiful."
Mattress Men is directed by Colm Quinn. For more info check out
