Horgan set to take on Tinseltown with Reese
Irish comedy star Sharon Horgan has revealed she is writing a new movie for Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon.
The Meath writer with the Midas touch has been earning critical acclaim for her new TV series, 'Divorce', starring Sarah Jessica Parker.
The mother of two has conquered the small screen with a string of hit TV shows, such as 'Pulling' and 'Catastrophe' but now she has her sights set on Hollywood.
She is following in the footsteps of best-selling author Cecilia Ahern, who has seen three of her novels get the Tinseltown treatment.
Sharon Horgan told next month's Red magazine she has teamed up with Walk the Line star Witherspoon.
She explained that they both were fatigued by the dearth of strong female roles available to female actresses.
"Reese set up her own production company specifically to create better roles for women because she was fed up with getting sent scripts where she was some funny guy's girlfriend," Horgan said.
"She saw Pulling and that's why we hooked up."
Witherspoon is a fan of Horgan's comedy series Catastrophe which also stars comedian Rob Delaney.
Horgan was recently awarded two IFTA gongs for her acting and screen writing talents.
