The champagne corks were popping in Cecelia Ahern’s Malahide house this week with the confirmation that her latest book will be made into a movie.
The author is no doubt over the moon with the news that her first novel for young adults, Flawed, will be brought to the big screen.
The book isn’t even out until April 5 – but Warner Brothers have already snapped it up for the Hollywood treatment.
The project will see Cecelia reunited with producer Wendy Finerman, with whom she worked on the movie PS I Love You, starring Hilary Swank. That made over €150m worldwide.
Cecelia’s new book is set in a fantasy world where anyone who disobeys is deemed as “flawed”. The sci-fi storyline is already drawing comparisons with Divergent.
Mum-of-two Cecelia has written a novel a year, since the age of 21 when she released best-seller PS I Love You.
