The Dublin crooner (39) has nabbed himself a role in a new wartime movie as he continues pursuing his acting dreams.

The former Boyzone star - who voiced himself in the movie version of Postman Pat - will be acting alongside acclaimed English actress Jenny Seagrove to make Another Mother's Son.

Speaking of his excitement after landing the part, Keating said he had an "amazing first day on set" as he got to grips with his new role.

This week sees the cast filming on the scenic Berrow Beach in Somerset in the UK. Seagrove's husband, the film producer and Everton chairman Bill Kenwright, is making the movie.

Locals in Somerset there have been tweeting sightings of the famous frontman.

The movie tells the emotional true story of Jersey resident Louisa Gould, who sheltered a Russian prisoner of war during the German occupation of Jersey in World War II.

While not revealing what part he's playing, Ronan's other-half Storm couldn't resist gushing about her delight at him landing the new project.

"Excited for my man who concluded his 1st day back on set of a new film. Talented bugger," she wrote.

As well as continuing to pursue his acting dreams, having featured in a number of productions, the dad-of-three is flying high in his personal life. Last August he got hitched to Australian producer Storm (35).
