Denzel Washington takes on the iconic role of Robert McCall in the movie The Equalizer, which is loosely based on the ‘80s TV show.
He plays McCall, a former black ops commando who has faked his death to live a quiet life in Boston.
When he comes out of his self-imposed retirement to rescue a young girl who has been abused, Teri (Chloe Grace Morëtz), he finds himself face to face with ultra-violent Russian gangsters.
As he serves vengeance against those who brutalize the helpless, McCall’s desire for justice is reawakened.
If someone has a problem, the odds are stacked against them, and they have nowhere else to turn, McCall will help. He is the Equalizer.
The film also stars Antoine Fuqua, who says of The Equalizer, "He's not fancy, he rides the bus, he doesn't have a car. He's nothing special, until he is.
"He's not a typical action character. It's about levelling the playing field for everyone."
Chloe Grace Moretz says, "When you meet him in the movie, you dont't know what this guy does. He wakes up the same time every night, goes to the same diner, he's just in his little area. And then you realise he helps people."
he meest an innocent girl he finds out is abused and then he decides to do somethin gabout.
Washington adds, "He meets an innocent girl he finds out is abused and then he decides to do something about it.
"He's trying to do better and I think people will relate to that."
