Hot on the news that Patty Jenkins will helm DC's Wonder Woman, Angelina Jolie is being tipped for rival Marvel's Captain Marvel.
Jenkins was last night announced as the replacement for Michelle MaclLaren who left the project just two days ago citing 'creative differences'.
She had previously been hired by Marvel to direct Thor: The Dark World but was replaced by Alan Taylor.
Her most high profile film to date is Monster, which earned Charlize Theron her Best Actress Oscar, and since then she has worked mainly in TV with the US version of The Killing and comedy series Entourage.
According to Collider, Angelina Jolie, meanwhile, is being considered to helm Captain Marvel.
The film is being written by screenwriters Nicole Perlman and Meg LeFauve of Guardians of the Galaxy and Inside Out fame respectively.
Jolie, fresh from directing Unbroken, was due to helm Africa, which would have starred her husband, Brad Pitt, but that project has reportedly been put on hold.
