Emma Stone upset Colin Firth by bombarding him with texts about Bridget Jones plot
The actress recalls “that time” she live-texted Firth updates while watching the famous rom-com.
During a joint interview with The Daily Beast for their new movie ‘Magic in the Moonlight’, Emma and Colin discussed his extensive experience in the romantic comedy genre.
Emma (25) admitted she has seen Love Actually about “18 times” and Bridget Jones “too many times”.
She recalled the time that she watched Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason and proceeded to bombard Colin (53) with text messages for the entire film.
“You were so upset with me!” She laughed. “I live-texted Colin the plot of Bridget Jones: a few months back while I was watching it. You were very upset with me, if I remember correctly. I talked him through what he was doing...it was all complimentary”
Colin lamented that he can never seem to distance himself from his roles in chick flicks:
“I might decide to not revisit stuff in the past, and then you get a good friend saying, ‘Oh, when you were doing this you had this and that expression on your face’”.
Emma offered some consolation, saying her mum is a big fan of his work, to which he replied:
“You’re not the only person whose mother loves me.”
The co-stars playfully bicker throughout the interview, to the point where Firth jokingly says, “Can we not be paired up for these anymore?”
Magic in the Moonlight, Woody Allen’s 44th film, is due out this Friday.
