Reports suggest he has now bagged the biggest role of his burgeoning acting career with a 'speaking part' in the new Bridget Jones film.

Scenes for the movie were shot at one of Ed's Dublin concerts earlier this year and now he looks set to play a bigger role.

A source told The Sun, “Ed was really keen to be part of the movie after granting access to film at his gig.

“He’s got experience playing himself in ‘Home And Away’ and is not daunted by the prospect of starring alongside Renée [Zellweger]."

Filming of the movie is currently under way in London and Renee has been spotted sporting a prosthetic baby bump.

Not only has Ed had a cameo in Home and Away but he has also filmed scenes for The Bastard Executioner.
