Chris Hemsworth cast as receptionist in new all-female Ghostbusters
The mighty Thor, aka Chris Hemsworth, has been cast as the receptionist in the upcoming all-female Ghostbusters.
The announcement was made by director Paul Feig on Twitter on Wednesday with “Our receptionist. #whoyougonnacall,” accompanied by a photo of the Aussie actor.
The role was played by Annie Potts in the original Ghostbusters, which was helmed by Ivan Reitman and starred Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson.
Feig, who directed hit all-female comedy Bridesmaids, is reuniting Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig along with Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon for the new instalment.
“Those four ladies I have starring in it are so funny and that’s half the battle,” Feig said recently.
“I’m going to battle with the best army I have. My whole crew from all my other movies have come aboard, and some great special effects people have come aboard — I have never really done this level of effects before — and I’m excited!”
