The 21-year-old model had been due to start shooting on the upcoming film, in which she plays a mermaid, in the English capital but is said to have missed her plane from Los Angeles.

Cara’s alleged mistake meant that she missed her cue time for the first day – causing havoc in the process, according to England’s Daily Mirror newspaper.

Numerous members of cast and crew on the Hugh Jackman film were reportedly left more than a little annoyed, as filming for the entire day was disrupted.

“Some staff were understandably annoyed,” a source said.

“It’s not like modelling, where there can be one big name on set that people pander to – movies are more expensive and involve a lot more people.”

According to the newspaper, the schedule was entirely ruined as the scenes involving Cara could not be filmed until she arrived.

“There’s a tight filming schedule and if someone who is pivotal in a scene isn’t there, the whole thing goes out of the window,” the source added. “It’s incredibly hard to pull back the lost time.

“But Cara had been in LA, so it wasn’t like she could get there any quicker than the next flight. They just had to push it all back.”

After she made it to London, Cara was quick to post several images from the movie set on her social networking pages, alongside the caption: “Finally!!”

Cara made her acting debut alongside Keira Knightley in 2012 movie Anna Karenina. Since then she has been focused mainly on her modelling career.

However, she does have a role in the upcoming The Face of an Angel – about the Amanda Knox trial – alongside Kate Beckinsale and Daniel Brühl.
