James Bond is back - but US film critics think Pierce Brosnan's latest thriller is a pale comparison to when he died another day.

'The November Man' stars the Irish actor in the lead role, above, as highly-skilled ex-CIA agent Peter Devereaux who is lured out of retirement for one last mission. US critics have panned the film, claiming it is rife with cliches. One said a more appropriate title would have been 'The November Meh'.

Brosnan appeared in four James Bond films, including 'The World is Not Enough'.

Fellow Irish star Liam Neeson, on the other hand, has had massive success in action films of late, including the the Taken series and Non-Stop with fans embracing the cliche-ridden plots.
