Brendan Gleeson to play Michael Fassbender's dad in Assassin's Creed
One Irish acting heavyweight will play the father of another as Brendan Gleeson joins Michael Fassbender for Assassin's Creed.
Deadline reports that Gleeson will play Fassbender's dad in the big screed adaptation of the video game while Jeremy Irons has been cast as the father of Marion Cotillard's character.
The film will see Fassbender reunite with Macbeth co-star Cotillard and Australian director Justin Kurzel, who has helmed the critically acclaimed adaptation of the Shakespearean tragedy.
Fassbender also previously worked with Gleeson on Trespass Among Us.
Gleeson will next be seen in Ron Howard's film In the Heart of the Sea and stars opposite Carey Mulligan, Meryl Streep and Helena Bonham Carter in Suffragette which opens on October 23.
Macbeth is currently in cinemas while Fassbender's next film, Steve Jobs, opens in Ireland on November 13.
