'Bono', 'Willie Nelson' and 'fantasy adventure movie' are three elements you probably never expected to hear combined, but the country star is lined up to play a role in a fantasy film Bono is executive producing.

Waiting for the Miracle to Come will star Sophie Lowe as an aspiring circus performer who is directed by a letter to a gold mine in California where she finds retired vaudeville stars played by Nelson (81) and British actress Charlotte Rampling (69).

The film will shoot at Nelson's private ranch in Texas next month and Bono will write a song for him to sing on the soundtrack.

Lian Lunson, who previously worked with Bono when she included him in her documentary, Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man, will direct Waiting for the Miracle to Come.

And Bono previously worked with Nelson when he wrote a song for him in 1989 - Slow Dancing - which they recorded together for the Duals album in 2011.
