A HOTEL in Howth was transformed into a Russian hostelry for the second-last day of shooting on Amy Huberman's new film, The Fixer.
The action thriller has been filming in Dublin for the past five weeks and is set to finish this weekend.
Amy plays the female lead, Gabrielle Martin, opposite Merlin star Tom Hopper and Nick Dunning - best known for roles in The Tudors and Quirke.
The movie is a bit of a departure for Huberman, who plays a woman who "gets caught up in a siege".
There were lots of armed men with guns on set yesterday as they filmed what is believed to be some of the final scenes.
Amy and Tom - who plays her boyfriend James Henderson - were looking shook as they watched their co-star Lacy Moore being driven away while the armed guards watched, but it was all for show.
Amy recently told the Herald the film was a "new direction" for her and she was revelling in the action scenes. "I play somebody who gets caught up in a siege and I have to fight my way out - and I do all my own stunts," she said.
"I have one fight scene and I've never done one before. I'm fighting a baddie and it's a fella - so I'll have to look like I can really fight," she added.
While she's loving the fight scenes, she said her husband, former Irish rugby star Brian O'Driscoll, had been "laughing at the whole thing".
