Moore's kids in trailer confusion
Julianne Moore has revealed her children used to think she worked in a trailer after visiting her on film sets.
The Shelter star has a 12-year-old son Caleb and a seven-year-old daughter Liv with director husband Bart Freundlich, and insists they have no interest in her being a famous movie star.
Julianne said: "My kids for a long time thought I worked in a trailer - so they know I'm an actor but I'm their mom!"
She added: "Children have a very limited interest in what their parents do. Think about it. Can you remember what your mum and dad do exactly? My mother was a psychiatric social worker, but if you asked me to name the hospital, I'd go, 'Ahh...' But it's really interesting.
"It's the same with us. What I try to tell them about work is that we're lucky and we really like our work, and I want them, when they grow up, to find something that they really enjoy and care about and can do. When they grow up and they see my movies, they'll know I did something I cared about."
The actress reveals her family life is much more important than her career.
She said: "In a normal life, your family is the centre of your life. We care about each other. My daughter has her ballet class. My son has his basketball. My husband writes and plays golf. And I act and like to decorate the house! Everybody has their thing. We all support each other."
