Moore signs up for Still Alice
Julianne Moore is to play a woman facing early onset Alzheimer's disease in a new film.
The Carrie actress has officially signed up for Still Alice, reported Variety.
The film is based on a novel by Harvard neuroscientist Lisa Genova and will be directed by Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland.
Julianne will play the title character, a cognitive psychologist and university professor who starts to notice lapses in her memory. The story follows the 50-year-old as she comes to terms with her diagnosis.
Shooting is due to start in New York in February.
Julianne, 52, has several films coming up including fantasy movie Seventh Son, satire drama Maps To The Stars and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2.
