Star Trek actor Colm Meaney and The Kids Are All Right's Yaya DaCosta have apparently signed up to appear in the Belfast-based comedy Whole Lotta Sole.

Directed by Terry George and also starring Brendan Fraser, the movie focuses on a debt-ridden young man whose plan to rob a fish market goes horribly wrong.

Yaya and Colm - who recently starred in the Russell Brand comedy Get Him To The Greek - are on board to be part of the film, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Belfast-born writer and director Terry's previous credits include Some Mother's Son, Hotel Rwanda and Reservation Road, starring Joaquin Phoenix and Mark Ruffalo.

Whole Lotta Sole, which he has co-scripted with Thomas Gallagher, has a reported budget of 5.5 million dollars.

Shooting is due to begin this week.
