Co-stars Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara will go head to head at this year's 36th London Critics' Circle Film Awards as they are both nominated for actress of the year.
The talented duo star in romantic drama Carol, which is leading the way with seven nominations.
Director Andrew Haigh's latest movie, 45 Years, starring Broadchurch's Charlotte Rampling, has notched up six nominations.
Haigh won critical praise for his 2011 success movie, Weekend, and critics are already tipping 45 Years for award success.
The movie, based on a short story by David Constantine, tells the story of an elderly couple's marriage and the crisis they find themselves in.
Actor Tom Hardy has been nominated in the actor of the year category for Legend, which sees him portray the Kray Twins.
His other blockbuster from this year, Mad Max: Fury Road, which saw him reprise Mel Gibson's famous role, is among the nominees for film of the year.
It will be competing with the likes of The Martian, Carol, 45 Years, Inside Out, Room, The Revenant, Spotlight and others.
The awards are voted for by members of the Critics' Circle Film Section and the winners will be announced in January 2016.
