'Lincoln' props under the hammer

GLOVES, a knife and other items from the film 'Lincoln' are among props being auctioned at the film's European premiere in Dublin on Sunday.
Director Steven Spielberg donated the memorabilia to be sold on behalf of Wicklow Hospice Foundation as a favour to close friend and 'Linclon' star Daniel Day-Lewis, a patron of the foundation.
Foundation chairman Brendan Cuddihy said the charity has been overwhelmed by interest from the US. "Props of this quality never come on the market and are closely protected by movie studios," he said. "Now 'Lincoln' is hotly tipped to scoop multi-Academy awards, we're being told the value is even higher."
The foundation hopes to begin building the hospice in June.
