Leonardo DiCaprio: Family important
Leonardo DiCaprio has revealed he is starting to think about family "more and more".
The 35-year-old Shutter Island star - who has been dating 24-year-old Israeli model Bar Rafaeli on-and-off since 2005 and is rumoured to be engaged - told The Daily Mirror: "I definitely feel a need to make my life about more than just my career.
"I was thinking to myself how little of it has been lived normally, as opposed to being spent on some far-off movie location - family is something I'm starting to think about more and more, especially now that my grandmother is no longer around."
He went on: "It makes you think about the impermanence of things and how important it is to be part of a family - to have some meaning apart from your work."
The Hollywood heartthrob also confessed he hated the pin-up image that came with his success following Titanic, but he has learned to live with it.
He revealed: "At first I hated the way I was turned into a pretty boy, as if that was all that was expected of me. It made me almost want to stop acting for a while because the attention that was focused on me was not where I wanted to take my career.
"I didn't want to do romantic films or anything which just exploited my image or appearance. I also kind of had to be more careful about the friends I was hanging out with. I was living a pretty big life for a while and then that just gets tiresome.
"You get all the partying out of your system, so I live much more quietly these days. I haven't done the nightclub scene in a long, long time. It's boring, to tell you the truth."
