Melissa Leo is reportedly set to play fellow Oscar nominee Jesse Eisenberg's mother in a new indie comedy.
The star, who picked up a best supporting actress Academy Award for her role in The Fighter, will appear alongside The Social Network actor in Predisposed, according to New York Magazine's Vulture blog.
The film is said to look at the unhealthy relationship between a drug-addict mum, played by Melissa, and her college-bound son (Jesse).
Predisposed went to the Sundance Film Festival in 2009 as a short film also starring Melissa. Shooting is apparently scheduled to start this summer.
Melissa has apologised for using the f-word in her acceptance speech as she picked up her Oscar on Sunday.
The star let the word slip out as she took to the stage, beating competitors including Helena Bonham Carter, Hailee Steinfeld and Amy Adams.
