In an interview with Harper's Bazaar, the Hunger Games star, 23, said that even after her Oscars success in February she found it hard to shake off the comment.

"Somebody told me I was fat and that I was going to get fired if I didn't lose a certain amount of weight," she said.

"They brought in pictures of me where I was basically naked, and told me to use them as motivation for my diet."

Asked why, after her huge success, it still bothered her, the Silver Linings Playbook actress told the magazine: "I was a little girl. I was hurt. It doesn't matter what accolades you get."

But Jennifer, who is dressed in designer outfits for the November issue, said she would never let anyone get away with a similar comment again.

"I know it'll never happen to me again. If anybody even tries to whisper the word 'diet', I'm like, 'You can go f*** yourself'," she said.

The star, who tripped up on her Dior gown as she went to collect her trophy for best actress at the Oscars, also spoke about how she was told to "pull it together" and called a "stuttering idiot" while others were "owning the stage" at the ceremony.

She refused to say who made the comment but said she replied: "I'm not doing it on purpose, I'm uncomfortable and when people get uncomfortable they resort to their s***.

"I make awkward jokes and stutter. That was actually a moment when I really wanted it to be special. That was not the time I wanted to be the Down-home Girl. I wanted to be graceful."
