The Hunger Games actress said she could relate to her character Katniss Everdeen's experience in the second film Catching Fire, as she is treated differently after winning the games in the first film, but feels just the same.

Jennifer revealed: "When Katniss goes back to District 12 and everyone treats her like a stranger and she feels like a stranger in her own home, I know how that feels. I'm not different, I'm the same, stop treating me like a stranger!"

And the actress compared the fame Katniss experiences to her own feelings of how she was treated when she attended red carpet events.

She said: "It was funny, I remember reading the books and I was going through my first award season when I was 19, and I remember exactly how that felt to be shoved into these dresses that don't feel like you and saying these words that don't sound like you and kind of feeling like a puppet.

"But the second time around it's not that ambiguous scary monster, you know how to move around it, so I did kind of relate."

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is released in cinemas on November 21, 2013.
