Lange puts bets on The Gambler
Jessica Lange is set to star in The Gambler.
The two-time Oscar-winning actress will play the rich and ostentatious mother of Mark Wahlberg's character in a new version of the 1974 film, reported Deadline.
Mark will portray a college professor whose gambling addiction takes over his life, with his debts leading to some unwanted new friends. The role was played by James Caan in the original film.
Brie Larson has also been in talks to appear in The Gambler, which is being directed by Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes' Rupert Wyatt and written by William Monahan.
Jessica, who won her two Academy Awards for her performances in Tootsie and Blue Sky, is up for Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild Awards for her role as the Supreme witch Fiona Goode on American Horror Story: Coven.
