Keira Knightley has said she prefers making sad films.
Given the choice between upbeat movies like Bend It Like Beckham and Pirates Of The Caribbean and more melancholy offerings like Atonement and her current film Never Let Me Go, the Oscar-nominated actress hinted which ones she enjoys more.
"Sad movies are often the fun ones to do - you have to dive into it," she told the Daily Mirror.
"It was magic because it's mind-enriching. It's really challenging and difficult, but it brings huge rewards. I talked to people after a screening of Never Let Me Go and a lot of them were quite shaken."
Keira, who is currently treading the boards with Mad Men star Elisabeth Moss in The Children's Hour in London's Comedy Theatre, is proud she can pick and choose what she wants to do.
"I'm in an incredibly privileged position where I can choose my work. I'm looking to be stimulated in things that I can put myself into which can teach me something about myself and the world," she added.
