Kierston Wareing loves dark side
Kierston Wareing has confessed she loves "the dark side" when choosing roles.
The Fish Tank star plays what she describes as a "psycho" in new black comedy thriller Four, about a man who hires someone to help kidnap his wife's lover to get revenge for the affair.
Kierston, who plays the wife, revealed: "To be honest, don't get me wrong I'd love to do lighter stuff as well, but I love the dark side and I love doing heavy stuff, and what really attracted me to her was I've always wanted to play a psycho."
She added: "She changes all the time and you think 'oh God, I wouldn't want to mix with her, not even as a friend' and I've always wanted to play that sort of character.
"She's very intelligent, quite in control, everyone wants control of the situation, but she's a psycho."
The film, from first time director John Langridge, also stars Sean Pertwee as the hired detective, Martin Compston as the lover and Craig Conway as Kierston's husband.
Kierston said filming was very intense, but before she took the role she was worried about being the only woman.
She said: "It's been very very intense. It's been the most challenging job I've done so far in terms of the dialogue.
"Whilst I was in it I was so worried thinking 'this is the hardest thing I've done'. I wasn't really thinking I was the only girl on set, I just wanted to get through the scenes."
Four is due out later this year.
