Kerry: Django stars like brothers
Kerry Washington has revealed that her male co-stars in Django Unchained treated her like a sister.
The actress, who portrays Django's wife Broomhilda in Quentin Tarantino's western, admitted that the men including Jamie Foxx, Samuel L Jackson and Leonardo DiCaprio were very "supportive" towards her.
"A little bit, but you know as the only woman, these guys were very protective of me. They really supported me so I could have this vulnerable performance that I had to do," she said.
"They were all really, really supportive. I kind of had all these big brothers around," she added.
Kerry, who attended the film's UK premiere with director Quentin and some of her co-stars, admitted she had to pinch herself on set, because she was so impressed by the star-studded cast.
"It was so much fun. I remember very early on, one day in rehearsal, I was studying my script and then I looked up. Sitting at the table was Quentin Tarantino, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Sam Jackson and Jamie Foxx," she recalled.
"I thought, 'What am I doing here?' It was very exciting, and it has been that exciting, the whole ride. And Tarantino was amazing because he is so phenomenally passionate about movie-making, so you enjoy every moment."
Django Unchained opens in cinemas on January 18.
