The RocknRolla star will play a soldier returning home from Afghanistan and targeted as a clandestine operative to monitor suspected terrorists in the UK, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Toby will appear alongside Brian Cox, Ashley Thomas, Adi Bielski and Tom Brooke in the film, to be directed by Matthew Hope, who co-wrote the script with former SAS counter-terrorism specialist Robert Henry Craft and Adam Tysoe.

The script explores the link between the war on terror and the war on drugs, from the soldiers on the front line to the drug dealers on the streets of Britain and how both are controlled and manipulated directly and indirectly by the government.

The project is due to begin shooting later in June on location around London and at Elstree Studios.

Toby had his breakthrough in Shane Meadows' Dead Man's Shoes, and his other roles include an appearance in Oliver Stone's Alexander and most recently in Prince Of Persia: The Sands of Time.
