Kate Beckinsale legs it to premiere
Kate Beckinsale looked Biutiful as she showed off her long toned legs at a Cannes Film Festival premiere.
The 36-year-old actress - who was assessing the film, called Biutiful, as a member of the festival's jury - wore towering black heels and a shimmering black Balmain evening dress, slashed up one side to reveal her tanned limbs.
Oscar-winning actor Javier Bardem and director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu also walked the red carpet at the screening of the hard-hitting drama about death, set in the back streets of Barcelona.
Javier stars as Uxbal, a criminal hustler and clairvoyant who is struggling to be a father to his children while keeping a healthy distance form his estranged, bipolar wife and managing the migrants he works with.
Mexican-born Inarritu said: "The fact that the film is human, and talks about human things that are real, it's already a hopeful film. Why? Because we don't find that very often now.
"Explosions, cynicism, killing people and violence in a very superficial way, is that life? Is that hopeful? Is that funny? I don't find it.
"This film is a truly intimate experience. And intimacy, it's now the new punk - it's provocative, it provokes people."
Naomi Campbell also attended the premiere in a beaded gold dress, while Naomi Watts opted for chic plain black and Meg Ryan simple plum.
Biutiful will be released later this summer.
