Joe needs McAvoy for Anna Karenina
Joe Wright has revealed he is waiting for James McAvoy and Saoirse Ronan before he can go ahead with his big screen adaptation of Anna Karenina.
The Atonement director said he already has Keira Knightley signed up to star in his movie version of Tolstoy's classic novel, as well as string of hot British actors on board, but he wants Saoirse and James to join the cast.
Joe told The Playlist: "Keira's confirmed, Jude Law's confirmed, Aaron Johnson's confirmed, Kelly Macdonald's confirmed, Benedict Cumberbatch is confirmed. I'm still waiting on Saoirse and James."
He added: "I'm not sure about James, he recently just had a baby so [he's busy]."
Saoirse, who had her breakthrough in Joe's Atonement and stars in his new action thriller Hanna, has been cast in The Hobbit, which will affect her schedule.
It is not known what roles Kelly and Benedict are set to play, but Jude is set to play Anna's husband Karenin and Aaron would play her lover Vronsky.
