Jodie Whittaker's Goonies moment

Jodie Whittaker has revealed she was inspired to become an actress watching children's film The Goonies, because she thought she'd just have fun all day.
The 28-year-old Venus actress plays a nurse in new British comedy horror Attack The Block about the alien invasion of a south London council estate, and said making the film helped her achieve her Goonies adventure dream.
Jodie said: "My sole reason for wanting to be an actress was seeing the kids in that film slide down a waterslide.
"I just thought, 'They got paid for that. That's their job'. And for me Attack The Block is my Goonies moment. I've fulfilled that dream of being in a film, running around and being chased by an alien with a gang."
Jodie studied drama at Guildhall and although she counts Hayley Atwell and Michelle Dockery among her contemporaries, and Bond star Gemma Arterton among her best friends, she insists she and her husband Christian Contreras - who she also met at drama school - enjoy a fairly low-profile life.
Jodie said: "My friends are actors or musicians or whatever, but if we go to a restaurant I don't think anyone knows about it.
"I can get to work and be really busy and no one knows who the hell I am. That's absolutely the best scenario.
"I've got all my friends since I was a baby and if I rocked up inside wearing sunglasses I think they might have something to say about that!"
:: Attack The Block is released in cinemas on Friday May 20.
