Jim Sturgess has confessed to stealing his Aussie accent for Legend Of The Guardians: The Owls Of Ga'Hoole from Neighbours and Home And Away.
The actor, who voices an Australian owl in the Zack Snyder movie, has admitted both soaps helped him master the accent.
"I think it is [how I got the accent] you know, I'm not even going to lie," the actor said, while on the red carpet at the film's Hollywood premiere.
"I mean we all grew up watching Neighbours and Home And Away didn't we? Hopefully it rubbed off in the right way!" he joked.
The 300 director's adaptation of Kathryn Lasky beloved books sees Jim lead an impressive cast of voice talent, which includes Oscar winners Dame Helen Mirren and Geoffrey Rush, as well as Abbie Cornish and True Blood's Ryan Kwanten.
"The story itself was just amazing and when I saw some designs of what it was going to look like, that sort of blew my mind," he explained.
"Then to know Zack Snyder was involved as director and I knew how visual and exciting his work is as a filmmaker, so making an animated film really the sky's his limit," he said.
