The force is definitely not with rising star Jack Reynor.

The Wicklow actor has poured cold water on rumours that he has landed a role in the latest Star Wars film.

Jack is becoming used to filming on big-budget movies having worked on the latest installment of Michael Bay's Transformers last summer, as well as enjoying a role in The Delivery Man, starring Vince Vaughn.

However, the 22-year-old has not had any approaches about a role in upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII, according to the actor's agent.

"There is no truth in that -- Jack is not taking on a role in the latest Star Wars film," a spokesperson for the actor told the Herald.

"He has not been approached about a role and there has been no discussion.

"The rumours started online, but there is no foundation to them."

The What Richard Did star is currently in Scotland where he is filming for the movie adaptation of Shakespeare's Macbeth, alongside Kerryman Michael Fassbender, who stars as the Scottish king.

Jack, who is dating model Madeline Mulqueen, spent much of last summer in LA filming alongside Mark Wahlberg and returned to Ireland last November.
