It's a family affair at Puss Irish premiere
THE Hollywood big names couldn't make it, but a former 'Hollyoaks' heart-throb and rising Irish acting talent stepped into the breach.
Belfast-born Gerard McCarthy was among a number of celebrities who graced the red carpet at the Irish premiere of the animated film 'Puss in Boots' last night.
Gerard, who played Kris Fisher on British soap opera 'Hollyoaks' until last year, took time out from his latest project to escort his seven-year-old cousin Dylan O'Neill to the screening of the latest Dreamworks production at Dublin's Savoy cinema.
The 3D feature film stars the voices of Latin legends Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek along with Billy Bob Thornton and comic Zach Galifianakis.
Mr McCarthy (30) is currently filming the 12-part series "Titanic: Blood and Steel" in Dublin. He stars alongside Chris Noth who played Mr Big in 'Sex and the City', 'Scream' actress Neve Campbell and Dublin actor Liam Cunningham.
