Idris Elba's Golden Globe strategy
Idris Elba has said being nominated for two different roles could prove tricky at the Golden Globes.
The British star is in the running for his roles as policeman Luther and freedom fighter Nelson Mandela at Sunday night's ceremony.
Idris has already won a Golden Globe for Luther, in 2012 .
Speaking to Chelsea Handler on her US TV show Chelsea Lately, the star said: "The problem is there's two tables to sit on: there's a Mandela table and there's a Luther table.
"So, since I already won at the Luther table, I was going to sit on the Mandela table.
"But," he added: "If I don't win that, I'm gonna run back to the Luther table and just be like, 'Hey, sorry about that, guys. I got this one'."
Idris is nominated for best performance by an actor in a motion picture for the movie Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom.
He's also got a nod for b est performance by an actor in a miniseries or a motion picture made for television for his role as Luther.
Meanwhile, the actor has said he was disappointed that Long Walk To Freedom co-star Naomie Harris didn't get a Bafta nomination.
Idris, who wasn't nominated either, tweeted: "OK peeps ... I've got an appointment at the @BAFTA I'm gonna do a #Lutherrage and ask where @NaomieHarris nomination?"
