Hugh Jackman was joined by co-stars including Anne Hathaway at the event in New York

Hugh Jackman has been honoured for his movie work at a gala in New York.

The Aussie actor was joined by some of his famous past co-stars, including Daniel Craig, who he worked with on Broadway, and X-Men's Liev Schreiber, as he was recognised for his work in the entertainment industry at the Museum Of The Moving Image's annual Salute.

Hugh's Les Miserables co-star Anne Hathaway was also at the glitzy event.

The museum's website said the actor joins a long list of stars who have been honoured with the Salute, including Tom Cruise, Clint Eastwood, Robert De Niro, Goldie Hawn, Dustin Hoffman, Tom Hanks, Al Pacino and Julia Roberts.
