Nicholas Hoult is set to play the lead part of a lady-loving zombie in the new teen romance Warm Bodies.

The movie - which is based on the well-loved novel by Isaac Marion - could be the next big living dead romance since Twilight, but with a zombie twist.

Screen Daily reports that Nicholas, who's set to be all over the big screen with roles in X-Men: First Class, Mad Max: Fury Road and Jack the Giant Killer, will star as a lonely, killer zombie who becomes good friends with the girlfriend of one of his unfortunate casualties.

Nicholas shot to fame after playing cheeky, troubled child Marcus in About A Boy, and for his role as Tony Stonem in Channel 4's teen drama Skins.

Written and directed by Jonathan Levine, Warm Bodies will add to the ever-growing string of human meets undead love stories that are due out in 2012.
