Georgie Henley has revealed she terrified her own mother with her latest movie role.
The Chronicles Of Narnia star plays an abused girl who teams up with her older sister, played by Abigail Breslin, to murder their mother in Perfect Sisters.
Speaking on the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of the film, the 18-year-old said: "I think my mum wanted to get rid of the bathtub in our house in case we decided to embark on some method acting. It's a dark place you have to go to for a movie like this.
"Every time were were doing any kind of promotion or filming, my mum was slightly nervous and I had to tell her 'we are fine, we are good'."
Georgie had never met Oscar nominee Abigail before filming Perfect Sisters but said they bonded quickly.
"We had never met before but we were spending so much time together, going to dinner, to movies, to this hilarious mall at the border of Canada and America trying on cowboy hats. That really helped."
It is the first role with an American accent for the former child star and Georgie said she was lucky to have an easy transition.
"I had a dialect coach in New York once I started auditioning for American movies, but in this movie I spend a lot of time mumbling which really helps if you make a mistake."
