Salma Hayek is reportedly in talks to join Oliver Stone's forthcoming thriller Savages.
The Mexican actress is being courted by the filmmaker to play the iron-fisted and tough-talking matriarch of the bloodthirsty Baja cartel in the big-screen adaptation of Don Winslow's novel, said Deadline.com.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine actor Taylor Kitsch, who had a small part as Gambit, is being considered for the role of Californian pot dealer Chon, who is persuaded to produce the drug for the Mexican cartel, along with his friend Ben, rumoured to be portrayed by Kick-Ass star Aaron Johnson.
Oliver is also looking at potential candidates like Olivia Wilde for the part of Ben and Chon's free-spirited female friend Ophelia (O), with the news that Winter's Bone Oscar nominee Jennifer Lawrence has dropped out.
