Hawke: Before Midnight may be end
Ethan Hawke has revealed that Before Midnight may be the final film in the series.
The actor, who previously starred in 1995's Before Sunrise and 2004's Before Sunset, hinted that the story has reached its ending.
"I feel like in a strange way we may have come to the end of the story. We'll see. You never know but it feels like the story's reaching its resolution," he told Collider.
The three films, all directed by Richard Linklater, star Ethan and Julie Delpy as star-crossed lovers Jesse and Celine. Before Midnight sees the pair meeting in Greece, nine years after the previous film.
Ethan revealed that production wrapped on the third film three weeks ago.
"Before Midnight is really a continuation. I'm still kind of high from the experience," he continued.
"The hardest thing will certainly be... that the first two have a real following. People care about these characters and we really feel an obligation not to let people down about it. But at the same time, there's no way we're going to make everybody happy so we just had to try to go about with the same approach and same attitude. I love this movie."
Before Midnight will be released in 2013.
