The Oscar-winning actress is reprising her role as Storm in X-Men: Days Of Future Past, but according to the New York Daily News her part was cut down during post-production.

Halle's part already contained less action because she was pregnant with her son Maceo when she was filming, but the paper said it was reduced further than expected.

A source was quoted as saying: "She only has one line in the whole movie. They're not telling her until the movie comes out."

However, website SuperHeroHype has said it has heard from its own trusted source that the report is untrue.

If Halle's role has been cut down, she wouldn't be the first star whose X-Men part ended up on the cutting room floor.

Last year it was revealed that Anna Paquin's sequence had been cut from the final edit because it was "extraneous".

Director Bryan Singer told Entertainment Weekly: "It's a really good sequence and it will probably end up on the DVD so people can see it. But like many things in the editing process, it was an embarrassment of riches and it was just one of the things that had to go. Unfortunately, it was the one and only sequence Anna Paquin was in, the Rogue character was in. Even though she's in the materials and part of the process of making the film, she won't appear in it."

Days Of Future Past, which follows on from X-Men: First Class, will see some of the original cast such as Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman and Ellen Page feature alongside the newer generation of X-Men stars like James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult.

The film will be released in May 2014.
