Bill Hader has revealed he doesn't like seeing himself on screen.

The 35-year-old actor admitted he tends not to watch his works, whether it's on the big screen or on television.

"I can't watch myself. I get self-conscious with the way I look and sound, and I don't want that to affect my acting," he said.

He added: "I don't want to go, 'Oh I can't do that because I look so weird.

"But my wife was kicking me saying, 'You really should have been at the screening because it played so well.' Saturday Night Live engrains in you to enjoy it that night and then have a new idea the next day, but this is really cool."

Bill is reunited with Saturday Night Live co-star Kristen Wiig in The Skeleton Twins, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. The pair, who starred on the US sketch show for eight years from 2005, play estranged, suicidal twins in the drama, which also stars Luke Wilson.

"This being my first drama and also the biggest role I've had in a movie, it was nice having her there supporting me and keeping me relaxed," he said of his co-star.
