Gwyneth Paltrow is taking a break from Hollywood to focus on her children after splitting from husband Chris Martin.
The Iron Man actress opened up about her plans for the rest of the year in an interview with E! News, which she gave shortly before she and the Coldplay frontman announced they were ending their 10-year marriage.
Gwyneth - mum to daughter Apple, nine, and seven-year-old son Moses with Chris - said: "I just finished a movie in January that I was doing at the end of last year in London with Johnny Depp, and then I had two weeks here, and then I did a couple of episodes for Glee for the 100th episode.
"So I have to go back to mommy... I have a rule about one movie a year, so I can't shoot anything for a while, but I'm developing some material and working on the site [her lifestyle website, Goop] and raising kids."
The actress also admitted it can be tough being a movie star mother.
"I think it's different when you have an office job, because it's routine and, you know, you can do all the stuff in the morning and then you come home in the evening," she explained.
"When you're shooting a movie, they're like, 'We need you to go to Wisconsin for two weeks,' and then you work 14 hours a day and that part of it is very difficult. I think to have a regular job and be a mom is not as, of course there are challenges, but it's not like being on set."
Gwyneth, 41, and Chris, 37, announced their separation in a post titled Conscious Uncoupling on her website.
"It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate," it said. "We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate. We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been."
The former couple are now reported to be enjoying a family holiday on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas, despite the split.
